Ellen von Unwerth

"From the moment Ellen Von Unwerth picked up a camera in the mid-1980s, she has held the fashion world captive with a style that is at once elegant, evocative, and erotic."--American Photo

Researching into the themes given by the girls steered me in a strong direction of strong, sassy, dominant femininity. This path reminded me instantly of Unwerths work.
Unwerth has interested me right from the start, her photography has a dominance about it, that most of the male photographers who try and do the same thing don't get anywhere near. Purely because she is a woman the way she shoots is completely different, other issues are covered instead of only sex appeal.
I need to take on board elements she uses to emulate the same messages.

"It's good to shock. It's not good to always be careful. It's good to disturb a little."--Ellen Von Unwerth
Emphasis of feminine beauty/curves/shape/form

I need my shots to reflect The Girls 'feel' how they want to be seen and what they want to represent.
